By order of contractor A-Lanes A15 (cooperation between Ballast Nedam, John Laing, Strabag and Strukton) CCI Leidingsystemen has built and installed 2 steel sinker pipelines for building the new bridge Botlekbrug back in 2012.
This bridge Botlekbrug is part of a busy intersection between railroad, road and water transport. The Botlekbrug was a bottleneck at the moment, by being too small and low, and because it had to be opened often for trespassing.
Building this new bridge and installing the sinker pipelines were part of widening the highway A15 between the Maasvlakte and the Vaanplein.
In and on these two sinker pipelines over 130 pipelines and tubes for fiberglass cables, electricity and other purposes have been processed.
After the complete composition, the sinker pipelines have been dämmered, so all pipelines were fixed.
The sinker pipelines were loaded by a supertanker at the quayside of Moerdijk and transported over water to the Botlekbrug.
